In Order To Be Where You Wanna Be, You Gotta Go Where You Wanna Go...

Y'all, I said I was going to update my blog weekly, but I've been slipping. I was so terrible at consistency and accountability. It's been an ongoing cycle of situations that come up and prevent me from going forward with whatever goal I'm working on. Randomly, I was talking to a friend of mine a couple weeks ago and we discussed the differences between accountability and laziness. I mentioned a dream I had that made me think about all the shit I was doing and trying to get involved in...only to realize I wasn't going anywhere. A lot of it was because I didn't fully provide my all into a specific task. And that in itself was troublesome.

That was, until I decided to stop for a second and throw everything away.

I compared it to cooking food. I went into full detail about it on my latest episode of The IKG titled 1 Kick, 10,000 Times. At any rate, I decided to take a brief hiatus from podcasting and other avenues I've been promoting, like Kindle Vella, IKG Radio, filmmaking and other ventures I haven't discussed before. And I did it simply because I wanted to do something, one thing, and stick to it. And it's fitness.

You see, I've been wanting to get healthy for a while now. I was vegetarian for almost 4 years, before I decided to incorporate chicken back into my food. The weekend of July 4th, I ended up getting sick and it had me on my ass for a few days. It was then I decided to start my journey. But then what really got me over the edge was something that happened a few weeks ago. I was sitting down eating some trashy food and saying to myself, "man at this rate you'll never be where you want to be..." I heard someone say, "in order to be where you wanna be, you got to go where you wanna go." It was a random phrase from a random podcast, but it stuck with me throughout the day. And at that moment I dedicated the rest of the year to health, financially, emotionally, spiritually and physically. So, yeah.

I believe this will be the first time I actually commit fully to something for the entire rest of the year. Now, I'll still be writing and things (in fact, I actually wrote something last week...a dream I had) because that won't ever go away. You can't stop a creator from creating. But like I said in my episode, I will focus on perfecting one dish...then the side dishes will come afterwards.

The rest of the year is full of sheer awesomeness!
